About the Role

Our medical cannabis facility in Richland, Mississippi is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Post-Harvest Technician. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between harvested plants and finished, marketable products. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional responsible for the post-harvest handling of all cannabis products, including bucking, trimming, and packaging, while ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post-Harvest Handling: Perform efficient trimming, weighing, packaging, and labeling of all cannabis products to prepare them for medical sale.
  • Quality Control: Maintain consistency by visually inspecting cannabis products and packaging to ensure they meet strict product standards, accuracy in labeling, and precise product counts.
  • Compliance and Waste Management: Accurately weigh and record all post-harvest materials and manage cultivation waste in accordance with state regulations and company policies.
  • Equipment Operation: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of packaging machinery.
  • Recordkeeping and Sanitation: Maintain precise records of product data while ensuring work areas and tools are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized per SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Strong dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and precision for the manual manipulation and trimming of plants.
  • Proficiency with weights, measurements, and basic math skills required for operating scales and recording data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, specifically regarding quality control and visual inspections of finished products.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting daily production metrics.
  • Prior experience in the cannabis industry or highly regulated environment is a plus.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based background check of the Mississippi Central Criminal Database and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Database with no disqualifying felony offenses.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a Mississippi Medical Cannabis Work Permit from the Department of Health before the first day of work.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive fine motor tasks and lift up to 50 pounds with extreme care when handling product.

Working Conditions

This role is highly physical and requires:

  • The ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and move repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Working in a controlled environment with potential exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to all health, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
