About the Role

Our medical cannabis cultivation facility in Mississippi is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cultivation Technician with a background in cultivation. This role is critical to ensuring the health of our plants and the operation of our controlled indoor environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional responsible for the daily care and maintenance of cannabis plants throughout their life cycle while maintaining the critical technical systems that ensure their environment is optimal.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plant Maintenance: Perform all plant care activities, including cloning, transplanting, feeding, pruning, watering, and integrated pest management (IPM).
  • Environmental Monitoring: Conduct daily plant walks to meticulously monitor for pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies, reporting any anomalies to cultivation management.
  • Technical Equipment Management: Manage and perform planned maintenance on facility HVAC, lighting, irrigation, and other technical equipment (e.g., Dosatron manifolds) to maximize efficiency and lifespan.
  • Compliance & Recordkeeping: Maintain meticulous, comprehensive records of all cultivation activities, plant health data, green waste, and equipment maintenance in the company and state-mandated tracking systems.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout all cultivation rooms and work areas by regularly removing and disposing of all cannabis waste and sanitizing all tools.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; relevant certifications or a degree in horticulture, agriculture, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of hands-on experience in commercial cannabis, nursery, or agricultural cultivation settings.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting and maintaining technical equipment, including HVAC and irrigation systems.
  • Knowledge of cannabis plant botany, genetics, and the various growth cycles (cloning, vegetative, flowering).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.


Mandatory Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based background check of the Mississippi Central Criminal Database and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Database with no disqualifying felony offenses.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a Mississippi Medical Cannabis Work Permit from the Department of Health before the first day of work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and perform repetitive tasks while standing for long periods.


Working Conditions

This role is highly physical and requires:

  • The ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and move repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Working in a controlled environment with potential exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to all health, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
